In the luxury transportation business, you never know what the day is going to throw at you. Sometimes it’s a quick airport run for a VIP guest. Sometimes it’s a last-minute call from an executive assistant needing a trusted driver for a Fortune 500 CEO. And sometimes—it’s all of that… in a blizzard.
This story starts with a new client. An executive assistant booked a ride for her CEO. The CEO was headed to a high-stakes board meeting in Vail. The weather? Let’s just say it wasn’t “bluebird skies and fresh corduroy.” We were in full whiteout conditions. Colorado’s version of brace yourself.
Now, any reasonable person postponed. But this CEO? She doesn’t postpone. She makes boardroom decisions before lunch and is on the slopes by 1 p.m. She expects service that’s as buttoned-up and reliable as her legal team—and canceling wasn’t on the table.
So I prepped like I was guiding the Lewis and Clark expedition through the Rockies.
Shovel? Check.
Emergency gear? Check.
Heated seats warmed and classical music cued up (at her request)? Check.
Lint roller? Also check. (Don’t ask—just know it came in handy.)
The drive was slow, steady, and white-knuckle at times. Cars were sliding off the road left and right, but I kept us safe, calm, and—most importantly—on time. The EA was texting me like she was NASA mission control. I kept her updated the whole way.
We pulled up to the Vail meeting right on schedule. Her CEO stepped out, boots dry, bag spotless, not a hair out of place. She looked back at me and said:
“You handled that like you were driving Air Force One.”
After that day, the executive assistant became a regular client. The CEO started requesting me by name. And that snowy trip? It turned into a long-term partnership with their entire executive team.
I still drive them. We still laugh about that blizzard. And every winter, without fail, I keep the shovel in the back—just in case.
What’s the Point?
If you’re managing travel for an executive or high-profile individual, you need a partner who doesn’t just “show up.” You need someone who anticipates, adjusts, and protects your time and reputation—even when Colorado throws a curveball.
I’m here for that. It can be a board meeting in Vail or a runway transfer at APA. I treat every trip like it’s the most important of the day. For your executive, it is.
Let’s make sure the ride reflects the level of leadership in the back seat.
